What does quick service/counter service mean? A quick service/counter service restaurant is one where you place your order and pay for it at a walk up counter. You choose your own seating and you pick up your meal when you are called. You are responsible for clearing your own table at the end of the meal. Quick service restaurants don't accept or require reservations.

What does table service mean? A table service meal is one where you are seated by a host/hostess and a server brings your meal.  All-you-can-eat buffets are also considered table service meals. At a table service meal you pay your server at the end of the meal and the table is cleared for you.  It is suggested that you make advanced dining reservations for table service meals.
